Rayphord 'Tex' Tiffee
Tex was born on January 27, 1921 in Wolf City, Texas and had one sister.  He married in 1939 and had two daughters when he enlisted in the U.S. Army in either 1943 or 1944.  Tex was a rifleman and sniper serving on a six-man Recon Team with the 147th Infantry Regiment.  His unit was shipped to the island of New Caledonia in the South Pacific.  Tex's Recon Team was then attached to the U.S. Marines and he was involved in combat on Iwo Jima and Okinawa.  He was wounded in action on both Pacific Islands. Tex served post-war duty on Okinawa before he was discharged in mid-1945.  He enjoyed a 34-year career in the Dairy Industry retiring as the manager of his facility.  He married twice but lost both wives to illnesses.  They raised two sons.  Tex turned 98 on January 27, 2019 and passed way shortly after on February 8, 2019.  He last resided in Springfield, OR.  Tex went on his Honor Flight in Oct. 2014.
